🌿 General Information
Psychopsis is an epiphytic South American species that grows on tree branches in Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador, in rainforests and cloud forests between 800 and 1200 meters above sea level. 🌾 It is susceptible to root rot, so the substrate must be very well-draining yet capable of retaining moisture.
☀️ Light
It loves plenty of light, but not direct sunlight. 🌞
🌡️ Temperature
Ideal daytime temperature: ~27°C. Nighttime: 17-18°C, with a temperature fluctuation of 9-10°C. With these temperatures, humidity and ventilation are crucial — outdoors, there are no major problems. Minimum winter temperature: 13-15°C. 💨
💧 Watering
In their natural habitat, from late spring to early autumn, rainfall is moderate to intense. Water once a week, ensuring the substrate dries out well between waterings. In winter, slightly reduce watering. 🚰
⚠️ They hate standing water. Do not mist!
⚗️ Fertilization
During active growth, fertilize every 15 days with a balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer. Suspend fertilization in winter. 🌱
